AMAZON ROOFING... Why The Name?

When the owner(s) of our company decided to branch out on our own, many decisions needed to be made. Obviously, the name of our company needed to be one of the first priorities, and this is how Amazon Roofing got it's name.
Companies of any business or industry always want to establish something that separates them from the competition and to their advantage. In today's marketing, alphabetical order is not as high of a priority, but for newspapers and phone books, the letter A carries a far greater value than the letter Z, and everything in between.
Many companies adopt a mascot or theme color, whether subliminal or not, customers now think of this particular company, when they see this mascot or color reference, elsewhere. Here at Amazon Roofing, our favorite color is green.
The owners of Amazon Roofing are huge animal lovers, and in our home (zoo) one of our beloved pets happens to be a Blue Front Amazon parrot (pictured below). This combination of factors made naming our company one of fastest and easiest decisions ever.

At the time of our naming, no other factors played a role in our decision, or was even on our radar of awareness. It wasn't until a couple of years later, that an attorney representing a corporation gave us a call. We were informed that the name was trademarked and that we could not use it. With a diplomatic approach, we explained that there is a massive river in South America attached with a rain forest, a tribe of fictional women, and of course our parrot, that all disagreed. We then explained our motives behind the name, both parties enjoyed a good laugh, and we were sent a form to fill out, that we would not try to "piggyback" our company as a subdivision of their corporation. We gladly filled out the form, sent it back, and the rest is history.
We hope you found an entertainment value in our story, but if nothing else, you now know our backstory.
Thank you, Amazon Roofing - Toledo Ohio
